Pepper-crusted tuna on a bed of salad

Ingredients for 4 Servings

  • 400 g bonito tuna fillet
  • 3 tsp. roughly chopped black pepper
  • 4 tbsp. lime juice
  • 3 tsp. liquid honey
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 6 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 red chilli pepper
  • 200 g mixed green salad
  • 100 g cherry tomatoes
  • 100 g yellow pepper

Preparation

  1. Wash the tuna, pat dry and rub in the chopped black pepper on both sides.
  2. For the dressing, mix lemon juice, honey, salt, pepper and 4 tbsp. olive oil. Clean, de-seed, wash and finely dice the chilli. Add the diced chilli to the dressing.
  3. Wash the salad leaves, spin-dry, clean and tear into smaller pieces. Wash the cherry tomatoes and chop into quarters. Wash the yellow pepper and cut into strips. Carefully mix the salad and pepper with the dressing.
  4. Heat the remaining oil in the griddle. Place the tuna steak in the griddle and fry for 2-3 mins on each side at a high heat, seasoning with salt. Place on a plate with the salad and serve immediately.
